I engaged Anthony to assist in maintaining my First Class Medical after a hospital visit for a medical issue that I was concerned would put my medical at risk. I’m an ATP rated pilot flying for a cargo operator. I went trough cataract surgery and contracted the Ison Law Firm, The Pilot Lawyer for advice on how to deal with FAA Medical. I contacted the Ison Law Firm (the pilot lawyer) in July 2023 with concerns I had about obtaining my first class medical. I had read great reviews and scheduled a call. The phone call went well and Anthony Ison was able to answer all of my questions and explain how I would move forward. The first time I knew I made the right decision was when they helped me gather the medical records that I needed for my file with complete ease on my end. That alone was a big relief. Throughout the process, Anthony kept me informed and was easy to contact if I had any other questions while I waited. A year later I received my first class medical. For anyone considering if hiring the Ison Law Firm makes a difference, I believe it did and I would strongly recommend doing so. After contacting multiple aviation lawyers and most making me feel like just another client with a case number, in October 23 I reached out to the Ison Law Firm for a matter concerning FAA medical certificate eligibility. Mr. Anthony Ison eagerly took my case and treated me as an individual instead of a number. I was nervous with this being my first time ever contacting a lawyer for anything, and especially not even living in the same state. Chris and Anthony are top tier when it comes to dealing with anything medical related. I had to deal with a correction of FAA medical records as many veterans have had to and some are still dealing with. Anthony's representation was worth every penny. Anthony and his firm are very diligent in their details, answering questions and engaging with the FAA. It would have been a very difficult ordeal do deal with if I had not hired his services for representation. It very well may have been the difference between losing my medical over missing information vs. covering all issues and keeping my aeromedical eligibility. The Ison Law Group did an outstanding job on my case with the FAA. When I heard the FAA was going hard after veterans with VA disability ratings I knew I was in potentially serious trouble so I reached out to them to get ahead of the impending situation. When I was at my lowest the Ison brothers assured me that everything was going to be ok and I wouldn’t lose my medical or a day of flying. In the 6 months it took till my medical was due the Ison law group immediately went to work on my behalf and kept me up to date every step of the way. If you think your FAA medical certificate application will be deferred, or possibly deferred, Anthony will give you an honest assessment of your situation. He knows the system, how the FAA operates and who to talk to. If you decide to hire him it would help to have your documents whether medical, court, etc. ready or in the process of acquiring them as it will speed things up. He was very optimistic in my situation even though I wasn't sure. I didn't trust the FAA but I had a very positive result.

Lawyers, usually deservingly, aren’t well liked. Anthony Ison renewed my faith in the profession. Consummate professional. I can’t find one negative thing to say about his dealing with the FAA. I’ll forever be in his debt for saving my medical.

Anthony helped me greatly! I had an extremely difficult FAA case that took years to resolve. This included many different doctors and locations and Anthony kept everything together and moving forward. There is no way I could have accomplished this on my own. Not everyone is going to need help, but if you feel like you do, Anthony is absolutely worth the cost!

Please, use a lawyer whenever dealing with the FAA, as they will use anything you say against you, and will take months to even look at your case unless they have calls from The Pilot Lawyer. In 2008 I was denied a medical clearance from the FAA due to a misunderstanding regarding my criminal history. I fought with them for years before finally giving up, feeling defeated and hopelessly accepting that my passion for aviation would never be realized. I felt like the FAA just lumped me into a pool of denials and didn't care to examine the specifics of my situation or care to listen to my explanations. I felt like I was just a number. I had a few misdemeanor offenses from my early years that were not necessarily disqualifying, (Simple assault and family protection order. My Step father assaulted my mom so I handled it in the heat of the moment and my step dad pressed charges on me.)The FAA wanted me to pay thousands of dollars in psychiatric evaluations and travel expenses in order for them to evaluate me. Even then, there was no guarantee that my medical would be approved. So I gave up... feeling helpless and hopeless.Years later, in 2021, I decided to hire an attorney and rekindle my effort to pursue my dream of being a pilot. So I researched aviation attorneys that specialized in my area of need and I found Anthony Ison. His website claimed that he helped airmen through difficulty in obtaining their medical cards, So, I called him.Fast forward to today, I now have my medical certificate from the FAA.Anthony was honest with me, he never sugar coated anything, He was almost always reachable by phone and when he wasn't able to answer, he always returned my calls in a reasonable time. Most of the time within minutes. He made sure to keep the lines of communication open via phone, email and mail. He did ALL of the legwork with navigating the mess with the FAA and legal paperwork.He helped me stay positive when I was frustrated, he answered every question I had (even the dumb ones), and he treated me like a person and not like a cash cow like I've experienced with other attorneys in the past. We agreed in the beginning to a flat fee, and he went above and beyond to make sure he held up his end of the deal. He definitely did more than I expected considering how little he charged me. His fee was more than fair and definitely a fraction of what the FAA was expecting me to pay for just a psychological evaluation, nevermind the travel expenses that would have been involved with it.Anthony was unbelievably professional and efficient in every aspect of this arduous endeavor and I know I couldn't have done it without him. I've read reviews online that seem fake and made up... I hope this doesn't come off like those. I just can't say enough good about this guy. His pricing was more than fair, no hidden expenses or fees and he didn't lie to me about my chances or the process involved. He is extremely knowledgeable in navigating the FAA bureaucracy and it showed. He is very friendly and never once did I feel like I was not heard or understood. He always took the time to help me understand every step and took the time to explain everything so I was never in the dark. He never made me feel stupid or annoying, even though I'm sure I was being annoying with how often I would call him sometimes. He understood I had questions and concerns and he did a fantastic job of taking time out of his day to help me through it. The FAA is a huge and complex organisation. Communicating with them without intimate knowledge how they work is very difficult and slow. It helps tremendously to have someone at your side, who understands the legal issues and the processes. In my case, we found out, when Anthony requested to see the FAA files on me, that the real issue was language, not medical. The FAA medical division wrongly understood a common Latin medical term used in Europe, and drew some wrong conclusions. Without seeing the files, we would not have been able to correct that mistake easily. The medical issues were resolved in the end, and I am on my way to the PPL. Without competent legal help, I might not have reached this point.

I attended a blog on a Friday to find out I was in error on my FAA medical. I contact Mr. Ison on Tuesday after the holiday and by Friday, he was contacting the FAA with my new package.
